This section provides a guide on editing QTI questions in TAO Studio. You will learn how to open the editor, how the screen is organized, how to use the full editor toolbar, and how to author interactions to convert the item into a test question.

From the sidebar menu select Create questions & tests > From scratch.

TAO Studio opens the Create from scratch view.

Select Question under Content type.

Enter a Question title and internal identifier.

Wait for the embedded editor to load.

Use Close to leave the editor.

If the editor has unsaved changes, TAO Studio asks for confirmation before discarding the session.
The item authoring workflow

Choose an interaction and drag it to the canvas

Configure the interaction/question’s properties

Save the interaction and confirm that it appears in the library.

Ensure that the question is tagged with metadata properties.
