Test materials, once created or imported into TAO, can be re-used in new test Items and when putting new Tests together.

This section tells you what you can do with your existing items and tests, as well as how to manage other resources which serve as supporting materials, such as media, so that they can be re-used.

  • Managing items contains information on how to maintain multiple versions of an item, on importing and exporting items, and on moving, copying or duplicating items within the same device.

  • Managing assets contains information on the Asset Manager, which is the area of the TAO platform where you can store and access media files, such as images, and video and audio files. It also tells you how to create and store ‘passages’.

  • Managing tests contains information on how to import and export tests, and on moving, copying or duplicating tests within the same device.

  • Exporting resources lists where in this chapter to find information specifically on exporting resources, such as tests and items.

  • Importing resources lists where in the User Guide to find information on importing resources, such as tests, items, and users.

  • Classifying items with metadata contains information on how to classify resources using metadata; classifying resources such as items, tests, and assets assists in organizing and searching for content in large content banks.

  • Access Control and Permissions contains current information on how to manage how content is exposed to different users depending on their role and permission status.
