This chapter introduces TAO Studio, a new authoring tool with additional capabilities such as content generation and conversion. TAO Studio provides an updated item and test authoring experience, and introduces the ability to easily create content using AI-powered conversation and generation.
What is TAO Studio
TAO Studio consists of a central workspace for creating, importing, converting, organizing, and preparing assessment content for use in TAO. Existing materials, such as exam papers, curriculum documents, and other source files, can be converted into digital QTI items and tests. You can also create new content directly in Studio using a streamlined version of the existing Authoring tool.
As you work in TAO Studio, apply metadata and tags to all imported or generated content to keep items and tests in the content library organized, and ensure the ability to assemble assessment content for future use.
AI-assisted tools can also support multiple tasks within the platform, such as content conversion and generation, metadata and tagging, and initial content analysis.
Signing up
With the initial cost-free release of TAO Studio, TAO Studio is embedded within TAO Portal as the new Authoring tool. Once tests are published as deliveries in TAO Studio, they may be used to in test session deliveries via the typical Portal workflow.
Users will be able to use all TAO Studio features with limited access to the number of AI-assisted projects and publishable deliveries.
